2. The first ten minutes of the interview are when you are judged. Sit up straight, smile, be energetic.
3. Do not judge the opportunity during the interview. Focus on answering questions and then debrief afterward.
4. This is the company’s opportunity to ask you questions. However, don’t be afraid to ask questions about the position, company or person interviewing you. Any questions you ask should be enthusiastic and positive.
5. The interview is when the company will paint their picture of you.
6. Ask the interviewer to describe the position they are trying to fill.
7. Always be straight forward and honest.
8. Make sure you are dressed appropriately for the interview. If you are unsure as to how to dress, err on the side of business attire.
9. State the facts. Clearly state what you have to offer to the position and company.
10. Know the personality of the manager you are meeting with. What should I expect as a result?
11. Always answer direct questions.
12. Be ready for two types of questions: technical and behavioral.
13. For technical questions, your answers should include terms or buzz words common to your field.
14. Ask if it’s okay to take notes during the interview before doing so.
15. Remember, the interviewer always drives the process.

18. At the end of each question, it is a good time to pause to make sure the question is over.
19. It is very important to build rapport with your interviewer.
20. Bring copies of your resume with you and make sure they are the same version as was previously submitted.
21. Ask the interviewer, what did you like about my resume?
22. Ask what the major challenges are for the person who gets this job? What do you think will change in this job between now and six months from now?
23. Make sure you can easily answer questions about your strengths and weaknesses, and that they are relevant.
24. When you leave each person you interviewed with, shake their hand, tell them it was a pleasure meeting with them and express your enthusiasm for the opportunity.
25. If working with a recruiter, call him or her immediately after the interview.
