Winter, Wyman One of Area's Largest Temporary Placement Firms

For the fifth consecutive year, Winter, Wyman is named one of the "Area's Largest Temporary Placement Firms"

Boston, Mass. (May 23, 2008)—Winter, Wyman was named today to the Boston Business Journal’s “Area’s Largest Temporary Placement Firms” list.  Twenty-five organizations made the list and it marks the fifth consecutive year Winter, Wyman has received this recognition.  Results were determined by the average number of temps supplied daily in Massachusetts, the number of clients served in Massachusetts and staff size.  The Boston Business Journal routinely gathers market intelligence on local companies across a wide variety of industries.

Although the number of temps supplied daily by the recognized firms decreased from 28,300 in 2007 to 22,831 in 2008, Winter, Wyman’s contract placements continue to hold steady.  The firm interviews an average of 500 new contract candidates monthly and in 2007 handled 1,312 contract placements.  On average, the firm supplies an average of 392 temps daily.

Winter, Wyman specializes in contract engagements supporting the following areas of specialty:
• Accounting & Finance
• Human Resources
• Information Technology
• Software Engineering
• Software Quality Assurance

Temporary employment has much to offer both employers and job seekers.  To hiring managers, contractors offer a chance to assess an individual’s potential performance and contribution to the organization before making a permanent decision.  Contractors are also typically task-oriented and focused and can often seamlessly transition into a permanent position.  For job seekers, contract positions are a great way to have a flexible work schedule or create a path to a permanent opportunity.  Taking a contract position can be a good move at any point in a person’s career and is an especially viable option when economic conditions are strong and stable as they are now.
