Winter, Wyman One of Area's Largest Temporary Placement Firms

For the sixth consecutive year, Winter, Wyman is named one of the "Area's Largest Temporary Placement Firms"

Boston, Mass. (May 22, 2009)—Winter, Wyman was named today to the Boston Business Journal’s “Area’s Largest Temporary Placement Firms” list.  Twenty-four organizations made the list and it marks the sixth consecutive year Winter, Wyman has received this recognition.  Results were determined by the average number of temps supplied daily in Massachusetts, the number of clients served in Massachusetts and staff size.  Winter, Wyman has been the BBJ's “Area’s Largest Executive Search Firm” for the past two consecutive years.

Although the number of temps supplied daily by the recognized firms decreased from 22,931 in 2008 to 15,082 in 2009, Winter, Wyman’s contract placements continue to hold steady.  The firm interviews an average of 750 new contract candidates monthly and in 2008 handled 1,318 contract placements.  On average, the firm supplies an average of 310 temps daily.

Winter, Wyman specializes in contract engagements supporting the following areas of specialty:
• Accounting & Finance
• Human Resources
• Information Technology
• Software Engineering
• Software Quality Assurance

Temporary employment has much to offer both employers and job seekers.  To hiring managers, contractors offer a chance to assess an individual’s potential performance and contribution to the organization before making a permanent decision.  Contractors are also typically task-oriented and focused and can often seamlessly transition into a permanent position.  For job seekers, contract positions are a great way to have a flexible work schedule or create a path to a permanent opportunity.
